|Job Description||Beaufort County is accepting applications for the position of Director of Parks & Leisure Services (PALS). The position is responsible for coordinating and directing all functions of the department at various sites throughout Beaufort County.
Directing operations and activities at PALS facilities, supervision of staff and volunteers, ensuring compliance with applicable policies, procedures and regulations, and enforcing established guidelines to ensure the safety of program participants and employees. Develops short and long term departmental goals and objectives based on stakeholder input. Reviews established programs and procedures and implements changes as needed. Identifies and implements partnerships with other agencies and groups. Participates in development and presentation of departmental budget. Frequently interacts with board members, County administration, civic groups and citizens of Beaufort County.

•Bachelor’s degree in recreation administration or closely related field. Master’s degree preferred
•At least five years of progressively responsible program experience
•Strong supervisory and management skills required with a minimum three years management experience
•Excellent written and oral communication/presentation skills
