College Central Network's Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy statement discloses the type of information CCN Technology Services, Inc. and College Central Network ("College Central Network", "CCN" or "we") collect and store about our Users, our usage policy, and who to contact with questions or concerns you may have.

College Central Network is committed to the responsible use and management of personal information of its registered users ("User" or "Users" or "you") and abides by all prevailing rules, both ethical and legal, with respect to the use of such information. We strictly adhere to all industry standard guidelines, and are continuously monitoring and enhancing how we manage the use and security of your information to uphold your rights.

College Central Network's technology is utilized by hundreds of college and university career and employment centers ("CCN Client Schools") to manage student, alumni and employer/recruiter data and to automate and web-enable their career/employment center functions and processes. In addition, job seekers attending thousands of colleges and universities that are not CCN Client Schools also use College Central Network's free, web-based services (collectively, the "CCN Site" or the "Site").

If a career/employment center is powered by CCN's technology and therefore is a CCN Client School, that CCN Client School has entered into a legal agreement with CCN, and that school's career/employment center staff and administrators will have the ability to access personal information from the CCN Site belonging to students and alumni of their respective schools, as well as information regarding the employers/recruiters who recruit at their schools. This access includes, without limitation, the ability to send emails to users and, only if authorized by you, to refer or forward your résumé and/or career portfolio to employers seeking to hire job seekers from their school.

CCN Client School career/employment centers, and the activities and practices of their staff and administrators are not subject to this Privacy Policy, and CCN is not responsible for how they use or what they do with personal information about that school's students, alumni and employers/recruiters which is available or accessible to them on or through their CCN licensed technology. If you have specific questions regarding the privacy practices and policies of your school's career/employment center with respect to your personal information, we recommend that you contact your CCN Client School directly. The career/employment center contact information is available to all users once you are logged into your CCN user account, and lists both the CCN Client School's email contact address and phone number.

We may make content or services from other websites available to you from links located on the CCN Site. These other websites also are not subject to this Privacy Policy. We recommend that you review the privacy policy at each such website to determine how that site uses your information and protects your privacy.

Personally Identifiable Information Collected by CCN

The CCN Site requires that you provide your name, address, telephone number, and email address on the registration form, but does not disclose this information to any outside third parties without your permission except as specifically stated in this Privacy Policy regarding your CCN Client School or for "Necessary Disclosures" as defined below. If you do not want to provide this information, you cannot use our Site.

Particularly Pertaining to Students/Alumni

If you are a registered user of the CCN Site and your school is a CCN Client School, you will have the option of having your information available only to your school, or you may also allow it to be searched by employers approved by your school if you have uploaded a résumé or career portfolio to our database. You may also receive mailings or emails from your school about upcoming career-related events or job opportunities.

Employers cannot search any personal information whatsoever if you are not attending a CCN Client School. If you have uploaded a résumé or career portfolio to our database and have personally chosen to submit or forward it to an employer when applying for a job, this is the only information that will be accessible to employers.

You may also elect whether or not you wish to receive email notifications from CCN about career advice and new job postings that match your job search criteria. If you change your mind and do not wish to receive such mailings after you have registered, you may update the CCN Email Notices checkbox in the Email Authorization section of your registration form. You may also unsubscribe by clicking the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of one of these emails or by contacting us at privacy@collegecentral.com.

CCN will not sell or otherwise make available your personally identifiable information to third parties unrelated to the specific operation of this Site, such as companies seeking to contact you with offers of products or services.

We may disclose your personally identifiable information if required by law or in our good-faith belief that such action is necessary to: (1) conform to the law or legal process; (2) protect or defend the rights or property of our Users; or (3) act as we deem reasonably necessary to protect the safety of our Users, CCN Client Schools, the public and/or to prevent or mitigate harm (individually and collectively, "Necessary Disclosures").

CCN Users should be aware that when you voluntarily display or distribute personal information (such as your email address, résumé or career portfolio) to others (by applying to job postings, etc.), that information could be collected and used by others in a manner other or beyond what you may originally have intended. This may result in, among other things, unsolicited messages from third parties, for which CCN is not responsible.

Particularly Pertaining to Employers

All employers registering on CCN to post jobs on EmployerCentral.com are required to submit valid email, phone number, and postal addresses in order to use our services. You may receive periodic mailings from us with information on new services or products. If you do not wish to receive such mailings, please let us know by contacting us at privacy@collegecentral.com. If you have already provided this information and at any time thereafter would like for us to remove it from our files, please contact us at privacy@collegecentral.com. We will use reasonable efforts to delete your information promptly after receipt of your notice to do so from any future files.
