Graduate Students and Alumni can volunteer to earn money to pay back student loans!

SponsorChange is a new organization that is fiscally housed at Pittsburgh Cares. If you are accepted into the program, SponsorChange Fellows pledge to do up to 20 hours of volunteer service per month. For each hour you complete, SponsorChange pays $10 towards your monthly student loan payments (up to $200/month). To complete the volunteer service, Fellows serve as volunteer coordinators for area nonprofits. For example, Habitat for Humanity hosts projects almost every single day, but only has a staff of two. In order to help build their capacity, SponsorChange places a Fellow with Habitat to help spearhead several projects a month through their organization. SponsorChange gives Fellows options for service (we don't just assign them) based on their interests, background and availability. It's a great opportunity to take a leadership role in local service projects while chipping away at monthly student loan payments.
