The J. Steele Gow Political Fellow Program
J. Steele Gow was a retired Executive Director of the Falk Foundation. The Foundation established this fund in honor of his 70th birthday to provide government internships.
Eligibility:
Be an undergraduate college student
Applicant's family must reside in Western Pennsylvania
Must have a grade point average of 2.75
Must have completed previous coursework in American politics at a Western Pennsylvania institution of learning
Must be interested in interning in Washington, D.C. in a Western Pennsylvania Congressional office; executive or administrative office of the federal government; in the legislative bodies and executive and administrative offices of local governments; or in the national, state and local offices of political parties
How to Apply:
Applicants must complete the scholarship application and include all college transcripts, two letters of recommendation, and a typewritten statement of not more than 300 words explaining why you want to participate in the fellow program and what you hope to gain from the experience
The stipend for this internship will cover the tuition payment for one 3-credit course related to government or politics, housing and placement in a Congressional office, plus $2,000 for student out-of-pocket expenses
