- 3 Important Guidelines To Posting Your Resume -

1. INCLUDE "Florida Gulf Coast University" on your resume, even if you are a freshman.

-Under the "Education" section of your resume, state that you are attending FGCU, the degree you are pursuing (if known), and your anticipated graduation date.
For example, "Florida Gulf Coast University, Pursuing Bachelor of Science Degree in ______, Anticipated Graduation Spring 20__").

2. DO NOT list your references on your resume.

-Your resume is viewable to thousands of employers. For security and courtesy purposes, we recommend that you remove your references names and their contact information from your resume. Provide that information to employers in a separate document when they request it.

3. DO NOT include any information on your resume that would reveal your age, race/color, gender (other than your name), national origin, religion, or a disability. Employers do not want to know that information since federal law prohibits discrimination based on those categories. Also, DO NOT include personal information (height, weight, health), family size, and marital status.
