Description: Assist Technical Directors with E-services initiatives and data integrity. Assist Service Manager with work scope maintenance in Oracle based system for all 5 US based GE / CSX Service Locations. Assist in installation, implementation, and trouble shooting of all site systems and interfaces.
Quantitative Goal: Allow Technical Directors to improve proficiency, increase troubleshooting time and dedication to quality initiatives by performing IT related tasks and implementation through data collection and system maintenance. Team member on Lean projecs with goal of improving craft proficiency, process improvement, and decreased locomotive detention time. Understand, troubleshoot and solve hardware problems working with shop personnel and supervisors. Lead the development, implementation, and follow up of standardizing work scope items for all locomotive maintenance across 5 major US based locomotive service facilities.
Qualitative Goal: Professional exposure of a current college student to the electronic based initiatives that a company such as GE uses. This person will be a valuable member of the GE Team, who will not only gain invaluable career experience, but also perform tasks that will allow the on-site Technical team increase their emphasis on GETS quality initiatives.
Hours: Part-time during school semester (20 – 30 hrs/week) – Flexible schedule. Full time for the summer (40 hrs/week)
