Wizards 2009 Sports Career Day
Good afternoon!
I want to formally invite you and your students to participate in the 9th Annual Washington
Wizards Sports Career Day on Friday, December 4th, 2009 at Verizon Center in Washington, DC.
This event is an educational seminar hosted by the Wizards focusing on careers within professional
sports followed by a college fair where many local colleges and universities will be represented.
Those activities lead up to an NBA game at featuring the Washington Wizards vs. the Toronto
Raptors. Admission to the pre-game event is included with the purchase of a discounted ticket to
the Wizards game (see attached flier). A coupon for food and drink (redeemable at the game) is
included with the purchase of each ticket. Over the past two years, almost 8,000 kids and adults
have attended this event, making this the largest group event of the Wizards season! Last year’s
seminar included the following guest speakers:
• Wizards’ Senior VP & Chief Marketing Officer, Jane Taylor!
• Wizards Senior VP & Chief Sales Officer, Mark Schiponi!
• Wizards’ TV commentator and former NBA Star, Phil Chenier!
• Wizards’ starting center, Brendan Haywood!
Availability is limited and the event is expected to sell out, so we recommend more than ever that
you SIGN UP TODAY! Do not run the risk of missing out on this event by ordering late!
Deposits will be accepted to reserve seats to groups ready to commit early!
