SPORTS-OPERATIONS INTERN

This paid summer internship plays an important role in the behind-the-scenes operations of the Des Moines Menace, Iowa's premier soccer team. Duties include:

Managing and maintaining the equipment and game-day clothes and uniforms of the Menace PDL team. This includes traveling with the team on some road trips.
Playing an active role in Menace youth programs, including the academy, camps, clinics, and tournaments. This includes setting up and providing customer service for registrations.
Coordinate the 2009 Iowa High School All-Star Games.
Helping with administrative details for registrations and other essential paperwork.
Leading aspects of game-day setup and tear down for Menace home games.
General office work, including but not limited to paper-cutting, copying, managing databases, and filing paperwork.
Other projects and duties, as directed by Menace Director of Operations.


In addition to these role-specific responsibilities, you will play an active role in the marketing that drives our organization. You will also help with in-game operations and other duties to help the organization.



Qualifications

· High levels of responsibility and organization.

A passion for sports and a working knowledge of the game of soccer.
Willingness to work nights and weekends, including traveling with the Menace PDL team.
Self-motivated with a positive attitude and dedication to the organization's goals, mission, and values.
Proven team player who is willing to take on responsibilities and do what it takes to get the job done.
Proficient with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, and PowerPoint.
