As a City Year Greater Philadelphia corps member, you will immerse yourself in a year of service in the 9th largest school district in America. You will be challenged and inspired. You and your team members will serve in schools and after school programs as tutors, mentors, and role models, with the goal of developing long-term relationships with students and improving their academic and life success through mentorship, college and career awareness, leading youth in service and building strategic partnerships throughout the community.

Position responsibilities: City Year Corps members serve full-time, 5 days per week, from 8:30 am to 5:45 pm. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Provide in-class academic and literacy support
• Lead after-school and out-of school programming
• Lead youth in service learning– based curricula
• Assist in college and career preparation for high school students
• Develop and implement large-scale service events and special events
• Engage community members, elected officials, and corporate partners in service
Position qualifications:
• Being between the ages of 17 and 24
• Strong commitment to improving communities through service
• Ability to work individually and with a diverse team
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects
• Relative team, volunteer, and leadership experience, as well as experience working with youth highly preferred
Position benefits:
