The New Vision's-Hunter College Urban Teacher Residency is a 14-month teacher-training program that fully integrates the graduate coursework of the inspiring teacher with intensive, hands-on experience in New York City schools. Successful completion of the program results in a Master's Degree in Education and certification to teach in New York City. Graduates of UTR are hired within New Vision's network of 75 schools after their residencies. Fro 2009-2010 UTR will hire 24 residents in English, Science (Biology, Earth Science, Chemistry, and Physics) for grades 7-12.
