Graduate School Opportunities
Boise State University MFA in Visual Arts
The Department of Art is seeking qualified candidates to pursue a full time Master of Fine Arts degree. We offer emphases in: alternative media; art metals; ceramics; drawing/painting; photography; printmaking; or sculpture. Cross-disciplinary exploration is encouraged.
The MFA, Visual Arts degree program fosters students’ creative, intellectual, and professional development as artists who produce excellent work, are able to discuss and contextualize their work cogently, and who are prepared to enter various career paths available to artists. Course work emphasizes applied study, art history, theory, and criticism. A Visiting Artist Program enhances the MFA experience by providing lectures, workshops, and critiques. The program culminates in an exhibition of a body of work, a written thesis that supports the work, and an oral defense of both.
Graduate Assistantships are available for first year and continuing students, and private individual studios are conveniently located on campus and near university housing. Details regarding admissions and program requirements as well as photographs of the new MFA program facilities are on our web site.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: January 15, 2010

New York School of Interior Design Unique Graduate Programs
The New York School of Interior Design has been a leader in interior design education since its founding in 1916. Since that time the college has continued to shape and expand its programs and offerings, reflecting developments in the discipline and the increasing demand for highly qualified practitioners.
In recognition of the need to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public, Interior Design is now a legally recognized profession in nearly half the jurisdictions in the United States and Canada, including New York State, where a combination of education, experience, and testing are the path to professional licensure.
On the graduate level, NYSID's three programs are:
MASTER OF FINE ARTS - PROFESSIONAL LEVEL IN INTERIOR DESIGN
The Master of Fine Arts - Professional Level (MFA-1) degree program is a three-year, full-time program, formulated to provide students possessing a baccalaureate degree in an unrelated field with the professional-level education necessary to become licensed interior design practitioners.
MASTER OF FINE ARTS - POST-PROFESSIONAL IN INTERIOR DESIGN
The Master of Fine Arts - Post-Professional Level (MFA-2) degree program is a two-year, full-time program with a focus on advanced study in studio and academic research in history, theory, and methods as they relate to an interdisciplinary approach to interior design.
MASTER OF PROFESSIONAL STUDIES IN SUSTAINABLE INTERIOR ENVIRONMENTS
The Master of Professional Studies in Sustainable Interior Environments (MPS) is a one-year post-professional program focused on specialized knowledge, thinking, and skills, structured to prepare design professionals to assume leadership roles in developing and maintaining sustainable interior spaces that will positively impact the world.
