Making the Most of the Event
ADMISSION
- Register your intention to attend via the "Upcoming Events & Programs" area of your personal College Central page.
- Candidate check in takes place in the lobby outside the MPR.
- There is no fee required to attend this event.
NO CANDIDATES WILL BE PERMITTED TO ENTER THE EMPLOYER AREA PRIOR TO 12 noon.
ATTIRE
- Attire is business casual; this does not include jeans, t-shirts, flip flops. Questions? See Career Services home page at www.sru.edu/career.
PREPARE BEFORE ATTENDING THE EVENT
- Use the Employer Profile Search of this event site for a complete listing of participating employers, organization descriptions, and whether employers are seeking full time or internship candidates.
- Identify the employers you wish to speak with in advance, and research the organizations.
WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU TO THE FAIR
- Students should bring copies of a carefully constructed resume. Not all employers will accept resumes, but some may be accepting them the day of the event. We recommend that SRU students and alumni take advantage of the Office of Career Services when constructing their resumes. There are also resume resources available at www.sru.edu/career.
- Bring something to write with, as you may be asked to complete applications or information questionnaires.
- It is not necessary for you to bring cover letters to the job fair.
PARKING
- Parking permits are not required for parking in the East Lake Parking Lot.
- Parking in any other area will result in a parking ticket.
- A shuttle service will be available throughout the day.
ADDITIONAL TIPS FOR JOB FAIR SUCCESS
- Be prompt; plan to arrive early to make the best use of time.
- Introduce yourself to the recruiters, stating your name and major, your interest in a full time position or an internship, and why you are interested in the organization.
- Be confident in yourself, your skills and abilities.
- Thank the recruiter for his or her time; request a business card.
- Write a follow up thank you note after the fair.
FINAL REMINDER FOR PARTICIPANTS
This event is about you; no parents, spouses, children, pets or significant others will be permitted to enter the fair with you.
