Job Description

Catawba County Technology Department is looking for a highly motivated, self-starting IT professionals to join

the IT team as IT Support Technicians. This individual will provide IT support to county employees to address

issues from PC hardware troubleshooting to active directory user account creation and basic IT troubleshooting.

We are looking for individuals with the ability to work productively and innovatively in collaborative team


Expected hiring range is $38,294.13 to $42,000.00


? Answer IT support services phones at first point of contact

? Provide support for any of the following types of devices and related issues, but not limited to: PCs,

laptops, printers, scanners, phones (desk and mobile), software, network, wireless, active directory user

set up and account maintenance, and email/outlook

? Create support service tickets and assign to appropriate staff as needed

? Create documentation when needed

? Respond to support service tickets via email, phone, remotely, or in person

? Ordering of equipment as needed/requested

? Provide other IT support as needed and delegated

? Miscellaneous administrative support duties as needed and assigned

? Bachelor’s or Associates degree in Information Technology or a directly related field; OR

? High School diploma and two years of related work experience


? Valid Driver’s License with a safe driving record

? Strong working knowledge and ability to troubleshoot basic issues with various devices, software and

hardware, as well as active directory and email/outlook

? Excellent customer service skills

? Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communications skills

? Highly self-motivated and self-directed

? Able to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment

? This position is considered moderate work, with the ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 pounds on a

regular basis, interacting with inventory
