Solano Community College has partnered exclusively with College Central Network® to power its career management platform for its Career Center.

College Central Network is a robust career platform designed to provide job seekers with employment opportunities and career development resources, while providing a pipeline of new talent to business and industry. It features opportunities for part-time jobs, internships, and full-time employment, making the job search experience easier and more productive for you.

The platform also provides a quick, easy way to sign up for career fairs, workshops, résumé reviews, and appointments with Career Services staff. You'll find great job and internship opportunities here, as well as relevant career advice resources, including the award-winning College Central Podcast featuring over 125 quick dives into specific career related topics. Plus, you'll have access to the Job Agent, which automatically matches job opportunities to your unique profile.

To date, over six million jobs have been posted by more than two million employers, who are recruiting candidates through the Network—their one-stop shop for recruiting!

For Students

All students have been pre-registered to use our CCN services.To register as a student, please click "Activate Your Account" and use your SCC username to create your own password. If you are already a registered user, please sign in to access your account.  

 

Once registered, you may:

  • Search for jobs posted exclusively to Solano Community College and search the Jobs Central® national job board.
  • Build a résumé with Résumé Builder, or upload a résumé file to Resume Central® so you can apply directly to jobs and/or allow it to be searched by employers (if you so authorize). Your résumé will be reviewed by our office and must be approved before it can be sent to employers or submitted online to posted jobs.
  • Build an online portfolio in Career Portfolio Central® to support your résumé and demonstrate your best work to employers.
  • Review your job search history. Report offers/hires.
  • Receive emails about programs, services and job-related topics.
  • Gain access to announcements, upcoming events, career advice documents, career advice videos, podcasts, and career articles from over 125 authors.
  • The CESC (aka Career Center) assists students with the job and internship search process by equipping students with the appropriate tools and resources to secure current or future employment. 
  • The CESC engages students early in their enrollment at Solano Community College to assist them in developing an employment plan. Staff works with students to develop job search strategies and career documents.

The Career Center assists students through individual appointments, class presentations, CESC workshops, career resources, social media shares, and special events. Theses services include but aren't limited to:

  • Assess interests, skills, values, and needs to prepare for career readiness
  • Write resumes and other job search documents
  • Develop Interviewing Techniques
  • Gain business and industry contacts
  • Develop strategies for successful transition into new employment  

 

 

For Alumni

The CESC (aka Career Center) assists alumni with their next steps in the job and internship process by exposing alumni to the appropriate tools and resources as they secure current or future experiential learning and employment opportunities.

For Employers

Through College Central Network, Solano (CCN), our online Employer Services platform, Employers have 24 hours of access to support their recruiting efforts and post their positions to SCC students, alumni, and community members. .

You must register your organization by selecting "I am an Employer" and "Sign Up". If approved, you will receive an email with your Access ID, Password and your Access Level. If already a registered user, sign in to access your account.

A general company email (i.e. hr@samplecompany.com) to register rather than a personal company or private email is preferred so our analytics and data is unduplicated.. 

 

If approved, depending on your access level, you will be able to use some or all of the services listed below:

  • Job Posting
    Post jobs targeted to Solano Community College students, alumni, community residents.
  • Résumé Search
    Search résumés of our students, alumni, community residents. When searching for alumni, your results may include community residents.
  • Portfolio Search
    Search career portfolios that have been prepared by our students, alumni, community residents.
  • Employers, look no further than Solano Community College for your hiring needs! The Career and Employment Services Center (CESC) engages students face to face, via social media and other modes of technology. We provide career resources and professional guidance to SCC students' and alumni' so they attain their immediate and long-term employment and career goals. This means, you as an employer of students who have taken advantage of our services, hire qualified and professional employees. We are also committed to building and maintaining excellent employer relations.
  • The CESC conducts ongoing recruiting events which include Job & Internship Fairs, Employer Panels, Workshops and Mock Interviews. Employers are welcomed to participate in On-campus Recruiting at our Fairfield, Vallejo or Vacaville campuses. All of these venues afford employers fast and affordable opportunities to connect with the captive employment pool here at SCC to fulfill their company's employment and service needs. These venues also afford incredible opportunities for students' to develop professionally and to benefit from the expertise of professionals such as yourself.

Our internet based job listing service allows you to directly post your job openings for viewing by Solano Community College' students and alumni. SCC offers over 100 majors, programs and job-direct certificates and prides itself on developing students to compete in a local and global job market!
