About Our Services

SUNY Schenectady County Community College has partnered exclusively with College Central Network® to power its career management platform for its Career and Transfer Services.

College Central Network is a robust career platform designed to provide job seekers with employment opportunities and career development resources, while providing a pipeline of new talent to business and industry. It features opportunities for part-time jobs, internships, and full-time employment, making the job search experience easier and more productive for you.

The platform also provides a quick, easy way to sign up for career fairs, workshops, résumé reviews, and appointments with Career Services staff. You'll find great job and internship opportunities here, as well as relevant career advice resources, including the award-winning College Central Podcast featuring over 125 quick dives into specific career related topics. Plus, you'll have access to the Job Agent, which automatically matches job opportunities to your unique profile.

To date, over six million jobs have been posted by more than two million employers, who are recruiting candidates through the Network—their one-stop shop for recruiting!

For Students

To gain access to our online career resources including information about upcoming events, job and work study postings, along with our resume and interviewing tips, you must first register with College Central Network by clicking on the Create Account link.

*You must use your STUDENT ID NUMBER to register.

If you have already registered, sign in. If you have been pre-registered by your school, select the "Activate" link to complete the registration process.

Once registered, you may:

  • Search for jobs posted exclusively to SUNY Schenectady County Community College; search the Jobs Central® national job board and the Intern Central® national internship board.
  • Build a résumé with Résumé Builder, or upload a résumé file to Resume Central® so you can apply directly to jobs and/or allow it to be searched by employers (if you so authorize). Your résumé will be reviewed by our office and must be approved before it can be sent to employers or submitted online to posted jobs.
  • Build an online portfolio in Career Portfolio Central® to support your résumé and demonstrate your best work to employers.
  • Review your job search history. Report offers/hires.
  • Receive emails about programs, services and job-related topics.
  • Gain access to announcements, upcoming events, career advice documents, career advice videos, podcasts, and career articles from over 125 authors.
  • Manage your on-campus interview schedules.
  • Search our Mentoring Network to find profiles of people who work in your fields of interest and contact them online.

For Employers

To access our online services, you must first register your organization with our office. When registering, please refer to our Job Posting Policy in the Announcements section.

Career Services reviews each registration individually. Please allow up to 2 business days for your registration to be processed. If your registration is approved, you will receive an email which includes a link to activate your account.

If approved, depending on your access level, you will be able to use some or all of the services listed below:

  • Job Posting
    Post jobs targeted to SUNY Schenectady County Community College students, alumni, community residents.
  • Résumé Search
    Search résumés of our students, alumni, community residents. When searching for alumni, your results may include community residents.
  • Portfolio Search
    Search career portfolios that have been prepared by our students, alumni, community residents.
  • On-Campus Interviewing
    In addition to posting on our Job Board, you may also post positions that involve on-campus interviews. An interview date will be scheduled after we review and approve your posting. You may then log in to check submissions, candidate status and schedules. On-campus interviews occur during specific times of the year. If you do not know our recruiting schedule, please contact us before posting your job.
  • On-Campus Recruitment

  • Businesses and organizations are welcome on campus to recruit, network and provide career and job search guidance by contacting our office at least two weeks before your intended visit.
    • Current SUNY Campus Guidelines in effect
    • Live recruitment is available on campus and/or virtually through Microsoft Teams Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. during the Fall and Spring semesters.

  • Want to help students develop the confidence, knowledge and skill needed to be part of your future workforce?
    • Be a Career Advisor-In-Residence (virtual or live) to answer questions about your field and assist our students with resume review or mock interviews
    • Participate in our Speed Networking Program to help students practice communication skills
    • Join the SUNY Schenectady CONNEX career mentorship community
