About Our Services

School of Visual Arts has partnered exclusively with College Central Network® to power its career management platform for its Career Center.

College Central Network is a robust career platform designed to provide job seekers with employment opportunities and career development resources, while providing a pipeline of new talent to business and industry. It features opportunities for part-time jobs, internships, and full-time employment, making the job search experience easier and more productive for you.

The platform also provides a quick, easy way to sign up for career fairs, workshops, résumé reviews, and appointments with Career Services staff. You'll find great job and internship opportunities here, as well as relevant career advice resources, including the award-winning College Central Podcast featuring over 125 quick dives into specific career related topics. Plus, you'll have access to the Job Agent, which automatically matches job opportunities to your unique profile.

To date, over six million jobs have been posted by more than two million employers, who are recruiting candidates through the Network—their one-stop shop for recruiting!

For Students

TO LOG IN FOR THE FIRST TIME:

  • Select Activate your account and enter your User ID (SVA Student ID#) and SVA email to continue registration and to create a new password.

IF YOU HAVE ALREADY REGISTERED:

  • Type in your SVA Student ID# as your User ID, then enter your password.

  • To recover your password, click on Forgot Your Password? You'll receive a password reset email shortly.

Once registered, you may:

  • Search for jobs posted exclusively to School of Visual Arts and search the Jobs Central® national job board.
  • Build a résumé with Résumé Builder, or upload a résumé file to Resume Central® so you can apply directly to jobs and/or allow it to be searched by employers (if you so authorize).
  • Build an online portfolio in Career Portfolio Central® to support your résumé and demonstrate your best work to employers.
  • Review your job search history. Report offers/hires.
  • Receive emails about programs, services and job-related topics.
  • Gain access to announcements, upcoming events, career advice documents, career advice videos, podcasts, and career articles from over 125 authors.
  • Manage your on-campus interview schedules.
  • SVA CAREER COUNSELING
    Participate in one-on-one counseling sessions in areas such as researching employment or exhibition opportunities, writing resumes and cover letters, preparing for interviews, and more. Visit svacd.youcanbook.me.
  • SVA INTERNSHIP-FOR-CREDIT PROGRAM
    Gain valuable work experience before graduation. Eligible students can earn studio credits while interning with top companies. For requirements and more information, visit sva.edu/internships.

    Gain professional development skills through year-round workshops on such topics as professional networking, job search strategies, freelancing skills and legal issues for artists. Professional artists and recruiters from leading creative companies participate in our annual career fair, student portfolio reviews and campus visits to recruit and share their expertise. You must register your organization with our office prior to accessing these services. If your registration is approved, you will receive an email that includes a link to activate your account, usually within one business day.

If approved, depending on your access level, you will be able to use some or all of the services listed below:

  • Job Posting
    Post jobs targeted to School of Visual Arts students, alumni.
  • Résumé Search
    Search résumés of our students, alumni.
  • Portfolio Search
    Search career portfolios that have been prepared by our students, alumni.
  • On-Campus Interviewing
    In addition to posting on our Job Board, you may also post positions that involve on-campus interviews. An interview date will be scheduled after we review and approve your posting. You may then log in to check submissions, candidate status and schedules. On-campus interviews occur during specific times of the year. If you do not know our recruiting schedule, please contact us before posting your job.
