About Our Services

Southwestern Illinois College has partnered exclusively with College Central Network® to power its career management platform for its Veterans & Career Services Office.

College Central Network is a robust career platform designed to provide job seekers with employment opportunities and career development resources, while providing a pipeline of new talent to business and industry. It features opportunities for part-time jobs, internships, and full-time employment, making the job search experience easier and more productive for you.

The platform also provides a quick, easy way to sign up for career fairs, workshops, résumé reviews, and appointments with Career Services staff. You'll find great job and internship opportunities here, as well as relevant career advice resources, including the award-winning College Central Podcast featuring over 125 quick dives into specific career related topics. Plus, you'll have access to the Job Agent, which automatically matches job opportunities to your unique profile.

To date, over six million jobs have been posted by more than two million employers, who are recruiting candidates through the Network—their one-stop shop for recruiting!

For Students

You must register with Southwestern Illinois College-College Central Network to use our free services.

Once registered, you may:

  • Search for jobs posted exclusively to Southwestern Illinois College and search the Jobs Central® national job board.
  • Build a résumé with Résumé Builder, or upload a résumé file to Resume Central® so you can apply directly to jobs and/or allow it to be searched by employers (if you so authorize). Your résumé will be reviewed by our office and must be approved before it can be sent to employers or submitted online to posted jobs.
  • Build an online portfolio in Career Portfolio Central® to support your résumé and demonstrate your best work to employers.
  • Review your job search history. Report offers/hires.
  • Receive emails about programs, services and job-related topics.
  • Gain access to announcements, upcoming events, career advice documents, career advice videos, podcasts, and career articles from over 125 authors.

Note: Once you create an account, your registration is reviewed by the Career Services pffice and if approved, you will receive an email which includes a link to activate your account.

Be sure to initial your EOE status, and if you wish to receive information from us about on-campus recruitment events and job fairs, be sure not to check the box regarding receiving school email notices from us.

Recruitment Table

Employers may schedule a table in one of our high student traffic areas to engage in passive recruitment on campus. We provide a 6 foot table and two chairs, and employers are welcome to bring any information or displays needed to promote their company and open jobs!

 

Career Services Advisory

As today’s job market constantly changes, so are our efforts to ensure students are prepared in the best way to serve the tactical, cultural, and soft skill needs of the workplace. To increase our capacity in this area, we have initiated our first Career Services Advisory board! We are seeking local employers interested in offering knowledge and expertise to collaborate with our career development professionals in developing innovative ideas to prepare our students and serve workforce needs.

 

On-Campus Interviewing
In addition to posting on our Job Board, you may also post positions that involve on-campus interviews. Please contact our office if you are interested in scheduling an on campus interview date.
