About Our Services

Virginia Western Community College has partnered exclusively with College Central Network® to power its career management platform for its Hall Associates Career Center.

College Central Network is a robust career platform designed to provide job seekers with employment opportunities and career development resources, while providing a pipeline of new talent to business and industry. It features opportunities for part-time jobs, internships, and full-time employment, making the job search experience easier and more productive for you.

The platform also provides a quick, easy way to sign up for career fairs, workshops, résumé reviews, and appointments with Career Services staff. You'll find great job and internship opportunities here, as well as relevant career advice resources, including the award-winning College Central Podcast featuring over 125 quick dives into specific career related topics. Plus, you'll have access to the Job Agent, which automatically matches job opportunities to your unique profile.

To date, over six million jobs have been posted by more than two million employers, who are recruiting candidates through the Network—their one-stop shop for recruiting!

For Students

The Hall Associates Career Center offers a full range of online services and resources that are available to students 24/7! Need one-on-one assistance? Career specialists are available for remote appointments Monday through Friday from 8am until 5pm.

Once registered, you may:

  • Search for jobs posted exclusively to Virginia Western Community College and search the Jobs Central® national job board.
  • Build a résumé with Résumé Builder, or upload a résumé file to Resume Central® so you can apply directly to jobs and/or allow it to be searched by employers (if you so authorize). Your résumé will be reviewed by our office and must be approved before it can be sent to employers or submitted online to posted jobs.
  • Build an online portfolio in Career Portfolio Central® to support your résumé and demonstrate your best work to employers.
  • Review your job search history. Report offers/hires.
  • Receive emails about programs, services and job-related topics.
  • Gain access to announcements, upcoming events, career advice documents, career advice videos, podcasts, and career articles from over 125 authors.
  • Manage your on-campus interview schedules.

  • Career Advising & Planning: Make a career advising appointment with a career specialist to help you chose your career path. Log into your Career Connections/CCN account or email us to schedule an appointment via phone or Zoom.
  • Resume & Cover Letter Writing Assistance: How’s that resume coming along? Explore resources in Career Connections & CareerSpots.
  • Resume Reviews: Get customized feedback and tips by uploading your resume to Career Connections. Schedule a one-on-one review session with a career specialist.
  • Interview Tips and Virtual Mock Interviews: Ace your next interview! Access interviewing video lessons and practice your interviewing skills with a virtual mock interview using our Big Interview platform. Register and create your account using your school email address. Take the challenge and email your recorded interview to someone who can provide constructive feedback.   • Internships, Apprenticeships, and Employment: Log into Career Connections/CCN to search and apply for internship and employment opportunities. Interested in earning college credit for an internship or want to learn about apprenticeships, email us or schedule an appointment in CCN.

Register your organization! Create an account to access our free online job board and recruiting events. Once your registration is reviewed and approved, you will receive an emailed link to activate your account.

If approved, depending on your access level, you will be able to use some or all of the services listed below:

  • Job Posting
    Post jobs targeted to Virginia Western Community College students, alumni, community residents.
  • Résumé Search
    Search résumés of our students, alumni, community residents. When searching for alumni, your results may include community residents.
  • Portfolio Search
    Search career portfolios that have been prepared by our students, alumni, community residents.
  • On-Campus Interviewing
    In addition to posting on our Job Board, you may also post positions that involve on-campus interviews. An interview date will be scheduled after we review and approve your posting. You may then log in to check submissions, candidate status and schedules. On-campus interviews occur during specific times of the year. If you do not know our recruiting schedule, please contact us before posting your job.

For Community Residents

Community Resident access is for Virginia Western faculty or staff only.
