About Our Services

Virginia Peninsula Community College has partnered exclusively with College Central Network® to power its career management platform for its Career Services Office.

College Central Network is a robust career platform designed to provide job seekers with employment opportunities and career development resources, while providing a pipeline of new talent to business and industry. It features opportunities for part-time jobs, internships, and full-time employment, making the job search experience easier and more productive for you.

The platform also provides a quick, easy way to sign up for career fairs, workshops, résumé reviews, and appointments with Career Services staff. You'll find great job and internship opportunities here, as well as relevant career advice resources, including the award-winning College Central Podcast featuring over 125 quick dives into specific career related topics. Plus, you'll have access to the Job Agent, which automatically matches job opportunities to your unique profile.

To date, over six million jobs have been posted by more than two million employers, who are recruiting candidates through the Network—their one-stop shop for recruiting!

For Students

Please register (or sign-in) with CCN to post a résumé, create a portfolio, search positions, read career advice, listen to podcasts, or check our schedule of workshops and networking events!

Once registered, you may:

  • Search for jobs posted exclusively to Virginia Peninsula Community College and search the Jobs Central® national job board.
  • Build a résumé with Résumé Builder, or upload a résumé file to Resume Central® so you can apply directly to jobs and/or allow it to be searched by employers (if you so authorize). Your résumé will be reviewed by our office and must be approved before it can be sent to employers or submitted online to posted jobs.
  • Build an online portfolio in Career Portfolio Central® to support your résumé and demonstrate your best work to employers.
  • Review your job search history. Report offers/hires.
  • Receive emails about programs, services and job-related topics.
  • Gain access to announcements, upcoming events, career advice documents, career advice videos, podcasts, and career articles from over 125 authors.

In addition to the on-line services offered through CCN in finding a job or internship, we also offer our students one-to-one career advising for help exploring career paths, reviewing resumes and cover letters, and preparing for interviews.

For Alumni

If you have successfully graduated from Thomas Nelson Community College, this page is for you!

If you are looking for more than the convenience of our on-line job postings, we invite Aumni to make an appointment at our Career Services Office (at either campus) for one-to-one guidance polishing a résumé or preparing for an interview.

For Employers

Post a position. Search qualified résumés. Our online Employer Services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Please register your organization with our Career Center office prior to accessing these services. Once your registration is approved you will receive an email which includes a link to activate your account.     Post jobs targeted to Virginia Peninsula Community College students, alumni, community residents.

    Search résumés of our students, alumni, community residents. When searching for alumni, your results may include community residents.

    Search career portfolios that have been prepared by our students, alumni, community residents.
  • Our service to you does not end with a job posting. Sharing opportunities is just the beginning of our partnership to bring the best talent to your organization. We encourage you to enhance your campus presence through our "Meet The Employer" information series, as a guest presenter at our weekly workshops, or as a Career Fair participant. If you are a community resident who would like to search for jobs, you must first register. Please indicate that you are a Community Resident on your registration form. Once registered, you may also receive emails about programs, services and job-related topics.

If you have already registered, sign in to create or post a résumé, search positions, read career advice, listen to podcasts, or check our schedule of events!

In addition to the on-line services offered through CCN in finding a career path, we also offer our Community Members adult career coaching and help exploring eligibility for our Middle College Program, On-Ramp Program and the Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training Program.
