About Our Services

SUNY Broome has partnered exclusively with College Central Network® to power its career management platform for its Career and Transfer Services Department.

College Central Network is a robust career platform designed to provide job seekers with employment opportunities and career development resources, while providing a pipeline of new talent to business and industry. It features opportunities for part-time jobs, internships, and full-time employment, making the job search experience easier and more productive for you.

The platform also provides a quick, easy way to sign up for career fairs, workshops, résumé reviews, and appointments with Career Services staff. You'll find great job and internship opportunities here, as well as relevant career advice resources, including the award-winning College Central Podcast featuring over 125 quick dives into specific career related topics. Plus, you'll have access to the Job Agent, which automatically matches job opportunities to your unique profile.

To date, over six million jobs have been posted by more than two million employers, who are recruiting candidates through the Network—their one-stop shop for recruiting!

For Students

All students have been pre-registered to use hireHornets, powered by CCN. Check your SUNY Broome email and select the Activate link to complete the registration process. Utilize the "Username/Password Look-Up" at MyCollege if you need to.

After you log in, click "Search - My School's Jobs" for jobs posted exclusively to SUNY Broome Community College students.

Once registered, you may:

  • Search for jobs posted exclusively to SUNY Broome and search the Jobs Central® national job board.
  • Build a résumé with Résumé Builder, or upload a résumé file to Resume Central® so you can apply directly to jobs and/or allow it to be searched by employers (if you so authorize).
  • Build an online portfolio in Career Portfolio Central® to support your résumé and demonstrate your best work to employers.
  • Review your job search history. Report offers/hires.
  • Receive emails about programs, services and job-related topics.
  • Gain access to announcements, upcoming events, career advice documents, career advice videos, podcasts, and career articles from over 125 authors.
  • Manage your on-campus interview schedules.
  • Search our Mentoring Network to find profiles of people who work in your fields of interest and contact them online.

Students wishing to schedule an appointment with a team member from The Career and Transfer Services Department should utilize Starfish. Visit our website to determine who you should schedule with.

How do I schedule via Starfish?

  1. Log into myCollege and click on “Starfish” in the launchpad on the left hand side. Use the lookup function if you do not remember your username/password.
  2. Click the menu icon in the top left corner and click on “My Success Network.”
  3. Type your Career Counselor or Career Coach’s name in the “Search services and people” box. To find out who you should schedule with depending on your needs, see below.
  4. Click on the drop-down arrow next to the name of the team member and then click “Schedule.”
  5. Determine the appointment slot that works for you, click the green plus sign and follow the prompts.

The Career and Transfer Services Department serves all SUNY Broome students, regardless of course modality or credential level. We offer virtual appointments for students that cannot make it to campus in-person.

You must register to use hireHornets, powered by CCN.  Register by clicking the "Create Account" button on the right. Registrations are subject to approval.

    1. Join by registering as an alumnus/a
      This will allow you to take advantage of all online services, including the ability to search and network with other Mentors.

For Employers

You must register your organization on hireHornets, powered by CCN, prior to accessing services at SUNY Broome Community College. Once your registration is reviewed and if it is approved, you will receive an email which includes a link to activate your account.

Our online Employer Services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, at no cost. Employers with approved hireHornets, powered by CCN, accounts may post paid job opportunities and search résumés.

If approved, depending on your access level, you will be able to use some or all of the services listed below:

  • Job Posting
    Post jobs targeted to SUNY Broome students, alumni, community residents.
  • Résumé Search
    Search résumés of our students, alumni, community residents. When searching for alumni, your results may include community residents.
  • Portfolio Search
    Search career portfolios that have been prepared by our students, alumni, community residents.
  • On-Campus Interviewing
    In addition to posting on our Job Board, you may also post positions that involve on-campus interviews. An interview date will be scheduled after we review and approve your posting. You may then log in to check submissions, candidate status and schedules. On-campus interviews occur during specific times of the year. If you do not know our recruiting schedule, please contact us before posting your job.
