West Los Angeles College has partnered exclusively with College Central Network® to power its career management platform for its Career Connections Center.

College Central Network is a robust career platform designed to provide job seekers with employment opportunities and career development resources, while providing a pipeline of new talent to business and industry. It features opportunities for part-time jobs, internships, and full-time employment, making the job search experience easier and more productive for you.

The platform also provides a quick, easy way to sign up for career fairs, workshops, résumé reviews, and appointments with Career Services staff. You'll find great job and internship opportunities here, as well as relevant career advice resources, including the award-winning College Central Podcast featuring over 125 quick dives into specific career related topics. Plus, you'll have access to the Job Agent, which automatically matches job opportunities to your unique profile.

To date, over six million jobs have been posted by more than two million employers, who are recruiting candidates through the Network—their one-stop shop for recruiting!

COHORT NAME

Students: if you are part of a cohort at our campus (POPP, C2C, LACOE BOW, etc.). Please identify the name of your cohort in the "Special skills & Certifications" during your registration.

Once registered, you may:

Work Experience Education Program

  • Receive Assistance with registering for the Work Experience Education Program.
  • Receive CSU transferable college credit for the hours you are currently working or volunteering!
  • Earn between 1 - 3 units.
  • Non-traditional course with flexible times.
  • Units count towards your general credit units.
  • Polish your employability skills with our two built-in seminars.
  • We will be offering ONLY general coop ed courses. Major related coop ed courses will be offered at a later time, more details will be provided soon.

For Employers

CCN is FREE for Employers! Our online Employer Services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

You must register your organization with our office prior to accessing these services. Once your registration is reviewed, if it is approved, you will receive an email that includes your Access ID and Password and defines your Access Level.

Employers may post job opportunities, internships, volunteer opportunities, and upcoming job fair/hiring events.

It is suggested that general company emails be used (i.e. hr@samplecompany.com) to register in this system rather than a personal company or private email address so our analytics and data are unduplicated.

If approved, depending on your access level, you will be able to use some or all of the services listed below:

  • Job Posting
    Post jobs targeted to West Los Angeles College students, alumni, community residents.
  • Résumé Search
    Search résumés of our students, alumni, community residents. When searching for alumni, your results may include community residents.
  • Portfolio Search
    Search career portfolios that have been prepared by our students, alumni, community residents.
  • On-Campus Interviewing
    In addition to posting on our Job Board, you may also post positions that involve on-campus interviews. An interview date will be scheduled after we review and approve your posting. You may then log in to check submissions, candidate status and schedules. On-campus interviews occur during specific times of the year. If you do not know our recruiting schedule, please contact us before posting your job.

On-Campus Recruitment Policies and Procedures for Employers:
You are invited to register on College Career Network (CNN) via the college’s CCN website and to use this portal if you are an employer with actual or anticipated bona fide position(s) and career-related paid or non-paid internships/and or volunteer opportunities.

There is no fee associated with the registration of the company or posting of job/internship opportunities. A bona fide full-time or part-time position is defined as a career opportunity that is salaried (not 100% commission) and does not require the candidate to pay a fee for training, purchase a membership and/or product(s), or any other job-related expenses.

Approved participating employers and employer representatives are expected to comply with Equal Employment Opportunity regulations and related legislation in their recruitment and hiring practices (job postings, on-campus recruiting, campus visits, and career event attendance). Consideration should be afforded to all candidates without regard to race, religion, color, sex, disabilities, sexual orientation, national origin or age. All employers are expected to be familiar with and to honor the NACE Principles for Professional Conduct for Career Services and Employment Professionals. Third-Party/Contract Recruiters/Staffing Agencies:
Third parties (employment/staffing agencies and search firms) may participate in CCN (job postings) provided that they:

  • Charge no fees to the candidate.
  • If requested by Career Connections Center, reveal the identity of the employer being represented and the nature of the relationship between the agency and the employer, and permit Career Connections Center to verify this information by contacting the named client.
  • If requested, provide a position description for valid openings. In accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, release candidate information provided by the college exclusively and only to the identified employer, re-disclosure of candidate information is not permitted.
  • Comply with all federal and state Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) laws (Title VI and IX, and ADA). Third-party participation is limited to job postings only. Non-compliance with the above conditions may result in account termination.

Posting Policies:
Employers offering “straight commission” or “salary draw” positions: “draw against future earnings” positions may not request to use our services (posting jobs, on-campus recruiting, and attend job fairs). To post materials on bulletin boards around campus; the materials (flyers or posters) must be submitted to Career Connections Center for approval first.

Scheduling Policies and Procedures:
Interview and presentation facilities arranged by Career Connections Center are to be used solely to speak with students and alumni from West Los Angeles College who are eligible for service from West Los Angeles College Services. Students enrolled at other colleges or graduates from other colleges outside of the LACCD district are NOT eligible to register in our College Central Network system or participate in on-campus interviews. To schedule interview days and/or presentations, please use the Employer OCR Registration Form.

Cancellation & No-Show Policy:
If it is necessary for your organization to cancel an individual company interview day, company presentation, attendance at a career fair event, please do so at least one week in advance in writing. If you are unable to attend an Interview Day event, you MUST notify the Career Connections Center in writing prior to the resume submission deadline posted on your schedule.

Space is in demand, and your early cancellation will give other employers an opportunity to meet with West Los Angeles College students. Keep in mind, last-minute cancellations and no-shows will negatively affect your campus image among students who expect to meet or interview with your organization.
