About Our Services

Santa Monica College has partnered exclusively with College Central Network® to power its career management platform for its Career Services Center.

College Central Network is a robust career platform designed to provide job seekers with employment opportunities and career development resources, while providing a pipeline of new talent to business and industry. It features opportunities for part-time jobs, internships, and full-time employment, making the job search experience easier and more productive for you.

The platform also provides a quick, easy way to sign up for career fairs, workshops, résumé reviews, and appointments with Career Services staff. You'll find great job and internship opportunities here, as well as relevant career advice resources, including the award-winning College Central Podcast featuring over 125 quick dives into specific career related topics. Plus, you'll have access to the Job Agent, which automatically matches job opportunities to your unique profile.

To date, over six million jobs have been posted by more than two million employers, who are recruiting candidates through the Network—their one-stop shop for recruiting!

For Students

You must register to use our services. If you are not registered, you must create an account.

Your User ID is your SMC email address. You must include your full SMC email address (including @student.smc.edu) then create a password.

If you registered prior to 7/18/2018 with your Student ID number, you may still use your student ID # to access the site. If it is less than 7 digits, please add a "0" before your ID number to make it 7 digits.

Santa Monica College does not endorse any employer using this platform to advertise jobs and internships. You need to make your best judgment about the positions available.

Once registered, you may:

  • Search for jobs posted exclusively to Santa Monica College and search the Jobs Central® national job board.
  • Build a résumé with Résumé Builder, or upload a résumé file to Resume Central® so you can apply directly to jobs.
  • Build an online portfolio in Career Portfolio Central® to support your résumé and demonstrate your best work to employers.
  • Review your job search history. Report offers/hires.
  • Receive emails about programs, services and job-related topics.
  • Gain access to announcements, upcoming events, career advice documents, career advice videos, podcasts, and career articles from over 125 authors.
  • Manage your on-campus interview schedules.
  • Search our Mentoring Network to find profiles of people who work in your fields of interest and contact them online.

For Alumni

    There are two ways to join our Mentoring Network:
    1. Join by registering as an alumnus/a
      This will allow you to take advantage of all online services, including the ability to search and network with other Mentors.
    2. Create a Mentor-only account
      If you only wish to become a Mentor, Register Here.

For Employers

Employers must provide:

  • properly zoned local business address where supervised work will be conducted
  • valid office phone number, web address (virtual business address not accepted)
  • all required equipment for the students
  • hourly rate, minimum wage or above for non-internships

Employers must possess a valid business license and liability insurance.

No staffing agencies are accepted, as SMC Career Center Staff provides job placement assistance.

If you meet the criteria, you will receive an email to activate your account and post opportunities.

If approved, depending on your access level, you will be able to use some or all of the services listed below:

  • Job Posting
    Post jobs targeted to Santa Monica College students, alumni.
  • On-Campus Interviewing
    In addition to posting on our Job Board, you may also post positions that involve on-campus interviews. An interview date will be scheduled after we review and approve your posting. You may then log in to check submissions, candidate status and schedules. On-campus interviews occur during specific times of the year. If you do not know our recruiting schedule, please contact us before posting your job.
