Listed below are options for appointments with staff at the Career Services Office and elsewhere on campus. You may schedule an appointment online or contact our office to discuss other options.

Are you undecided about what you want to go into? Exploring where your interests point and what you want to do in a career is a great start to forming your career goals.   • Career Exploration

Your resume is your first impression to an employer. Knowing what to include on a resume is as important as what to say and how to present it. Learn what to include, how to present your information, hints and help on building and writing your resume. Also learn how to use the Resume Builder on the CollegeCentral.com/witcc site. Submit your completed resume through the site for review.

It is important to include a Cover Letter with your resume. It enhances the information you want to highlight to the employer and gives you an opportunity to ask for that interview! After you have written your resume, proofreading it is one of the most important things you can do. Make an appointment with the Career Services Specialist or submit your resume online for a professional review and feedback.

Interviews can be the most stressful part of finding a job. Get tips on how to dress, how to act, what questions to expect, what to ask, and more!

  • Interview Assistance

Practicing your interview skills helps build confidence. Schedule a mock interview session with real interview questions. More employers are using phone and virtual interview methods. Mock interviews available via face-to-face, phone, and Zoom.

Western Iowa Tech Alumni will get a chance to mentor current Western Iowa Tech Community College students as opportunities become available.

Schedule a tour to see all the changes Western Iowa Tech Community College has made.  Alumni will recieve a tour and a chance to discover all the new changes and services on our campus!  As a WITCC alumni, we want you to be excited about the campus you were once a part of, and still are. This tour will also encourage you to become an activie member of our Alumni Association!

  • Alumni Event

Western Iowa Tech Community College supports Leadership Siouxland, and is an active member. The purpose of Leadership Siouxland is to identify and train outstanding individuals representing diverse views and experiences to assume leadership roles in economic, cultural, philanthropic and civic development for the tri-state area. It is a highly structured, nine-month program (September-May) with graduation following completion of the program.

Help you make connection with you and our current students. WITCC Alumni will get the chance to work with our students by attending one or more of our student activity events.  This is a perfect time to get to know our current students.  Have fun with our students during intramural, educational and social events....and maybe do some mentoring along the way...

You must register with CCN to use our services. Once registered, you may:

  • Search for jobs posted exclusively to Western Iowa Tech Community College; search the Jobs Central® national job board and the Intern Central® national internship board.
  • Build a résumé with Résumé Builder, or upload a résumé file to Resume Central® so you can apply directly to jobs and/or allow it to be searched by employers (if you so authorize). Your résumé will be reviewed by our office and must be approved before it can be sent to employers or submitted online to posted jobs.
  • Build an online portfolio in Career Portfolio Central® to support your résumé and demonstrate your best work to employers.
  • Review your job search history. Report offers/hires.
  • Receive emails about programs, services and job-related topics.
  • Gain access to announcements, upcoming events, career advice documents, career advice videos, podcasts, and career articles from over 125 authors.
  • Search our Mentoring Network to find profiles of people who work in your fields of interest and contact them online.
  • You may also join our Mentoring Network without registering in Alumni Central. However, you must register in Alumni Central to take advantage of all online services. This includes the opportunity to search and network with other Mentors.
