The DMACC Career Center is here to provide students and alumni with a smooth transition from school into a successful career. Our support covers every step of the job seeking process and is available to any student or alumni in any stage of their career.

Services include:

- Assistance with resumes, cover letters, and job applications

- Interview tips and techniques along with mock interview opportunities

- Career assessments and occupational information

- Work study employment assistance

We are located in Building 1 on the Ankeny Campus, and are available Monday-Friday from 7:30am - 4:00pm. We do not accept walk-ins, so please make an appointment prior to visiting our office. Please call 515-964-6200 to make an appointment.

Master Builders of Iowa has launched a free online job board where building and construction trades employers from around the state can advertise current openings to Iowa job seekers. Their new website is: http://mbi.ourcareerpages.com.

You can also still find local building and construction trades jobs through your student account on the DMACC Career Center's website, www.CollegeCentral.com/DMACC. Connect through these two great resources to find dozens of local job opportunities in your industry!

About Our Services

You must register with CCN to use our services. Once registered, you may:

  • Search for jobs posted exclusively to Des Moines Area Community College; search the Jobs Central® national job board and the Intern Central® national internship board.
  • Build a résumé with Résumé Builder, or upload a résumé file to Resume Central® so it can be searched by employers (if you so authorize). Your résumé will be reviewed by our office and must be approved before it can be sent to employers or submitted online to posted jobs.
  • Build an online portfolio in Career Portfolio Central® to support your résumé and demonstrate your best work to employers.
  • Review your job search history. Report offers/hires.
  • Receive emails about programs, services and job-related topics.
  • Gain access to announcements, upcoming events, career advice documents, career advice videos, podcasts, and career articles from over 125 authors.
